GENERAL COURSESOur general courses for adults are designed for learners at all levels and abilities. Prior to course enrolment, prospective new students will be asked to complete a few short tests in order to assist DAS Languages in placing them into an appropriate group.

Beginners

This is a course for learners with very little or no prior knowledge of English. Students will acquire all the skills needed to communicate in everyday social situations by gaining insight into basic grammar structures and essential vocabulary.

It is designed to provide students with an introduction to the structure and system of the language.

Course duration:

Beginners Course 1 – 12 weeks, 24 classes (two times a week for 60 minutes – weekday nights)
Beginners Course 2 – 12 weeks, 24 classes (two times a week for 60 minutes – weekday nights)

Elementary

This course is for students who have some basic knowledge of English. The aim of the course is to help students successfully manage a variety of situations, clearly getting their message across. It will assist them in developing their key grammar skills, whilst building their vocabulary and self-confidence.

Elementary Course 1 – 12 weeks, 24 classes (two times a week for 60 minutes – weekday nights)
Elementary Course 2 – 12 weeks, 24 classes (two times a week for 60 minutes – weekday nights)

Pre-Intermediate

This is a course aimed at those students who have a certain level of passive knowledge but would like to focus on communicating their thoughts clearly and expanding their range of grammar and vocabulary structures, as well. Some basic writing exercises are also completed as part of this course.

Pre-Intermediate Course 1 – 12 weeks, 24 classes (two times a week for 60 minutes – weekday nights)
Pre-Intermediate Course 2 – 12 weeks, 24 classes (two times a week for 60 minutes – weekday nights)

Intermediate

The objective of this course is independent communication with regards to the use of common English phrases and language sets, as well as increasing students’ levels of confidence while speaking. This course focuses on the development of more complex structures in English, both in terms of grammar and vocabulary. Slightly more advanced writing tasks are also completed at this level, both for personal and business-related topics.

Intermediate Course 1 – 12 weeks, 24 classes (two times a week for 60 minutes – weekday nights)
Intermediate Course 2 – 12 weeks, 24 classes (two times a week for 60 minutes – weekday nights)

Upper Intermediate

Students with this level of English will be able to communicate independently in a wide variety of contexts and situations. A strong emphasis is placed on the active usage of English structures, while also revising areas that have been covered previously. Elements of greater complexity are examined and put into practice, using activities that reflect real-life English usage. Further writing practice, both for personal and business-related topics, is incorporated into the course.

Upper Intermediate Course 2 – 12 weeks, 24 classes (two times a week for 60 minutes – weekday nights)

Advanced

This course is designed for students who wish to develop their language ability to speak English fluently. A broad range of topics is dealt with, which incorporate related grammar and vocabulary into the students’ practice of English. The structures explored are more complex and improve students’ overall grasp of the language, through the introduction of more advanced structures coupled with revision of previous material. The aim is to reach a high level of fluency and confidence in both speaking and writing.
